2019 CTE Grant Award Recipients
The Kelly McGinnis Memorial Foundation is delighted announce the recipients of our 2019 CTE Grant awards. We are grateful for every student that applied and the decision process was very challenging. The applications we received were from many different CTE fields and the applicants were all deserving of outstanding recognition. The 2019 awardees are: Molly Mahoney - Mission Vista High School, program Graphic Design ($3,000)
Instructor: Laura Lee Juliano
Award: Up to $5,000.00 Hardware and software in support of Graphic Design. Purchases will be coordinated with Lisa McGinnis of The Kelly McGinnis Memorial Foundation.John Cruz - Escondido High School, program Wood Shop/Auto Shop ($2,500)
Instructor: Nathan Boelhauf
Award: Up to $2,500.00 list price in Snap On Tools. Tool purchases will be coordinated with Lisa McGinnis of The Kelly McGinnis Memorial Foundation.Alec Quinn - Valley Center High School, program Auto shop and Culinary ($2,500)
Instructors: Wes Bertram (Auto Shop) / Scott Storms (Culinary)
Award: Tuition of $2,500.00 towards trade school.Yasmin Ortiz - Rancho Buena Vista High School, program Digital Art/Graphic Design ($1,000)

Award: $1,000.00 cash.
Garfield High School - Culinary Arts Program
The program received $500 for the purchase of food supplies towards the use in training and preparation to participate in Teen Iron Chef.

San Diego School of Performing Arts - Saturday Workshop, Technical Theatre
The program received $750 towards facility and materials. The workshop provide voluntary "Saturday school" teaching which includes sewing basics, scenic painting skills and basic constructions to supplement the regular classroom curriculum.
